On the way from Kochi to Munnar

Road – Munnar is accessible by frequent buses from Ernakulam (near Kochi), Kottayam, Thekkedy. Interstate buses runs between Bangalore, Coimbatore, Maduri, Theni, Palani to Munnar frequently.

Rail – Munnar is not connected with Rail. Ernakulam 130kms, Kottayam 147km, Madurai 162kms, Coimbatore 158kms.

Air – Nearest Airport Kochi / Cochin 130 kms 4hrs by road. Madurai – 142kms . Coimbatore – 167km. Trivandrum 302km.

Attractions of Munnar Hill Station

Eravikulam National Park – Eravikulam National Park is situated at a distance of 15 km from Munnar. This incredibly beautiful park is spread an area of 97 sq kms. Eravikulam National Park is a home to the Nilgiri Tahr. The most popular Anamudi Peak is also found in the southern region of this park. In 1978, this park is announced as a National Park due to its extensive faunal, floral, ecological, geo-morphological and the zoological significance. If you want to see the best evergreen forest, then you must visit this park.

Mattupetty – Mattupetty is situated at a height of 1700 mts. This beautiful lake and dam is found at the distance of 13 km from Munnar. Mattupetty is renowned for the Indo-swiss live stock project, a joint venture of India and Switzerland. The extensive Kundala tea plantations and the Kundala Lake are the other major attractions in its surroundings.

Rajamala – Rajamala is situated at 2695 Mts above the sea level. This is a natural habitat of the Niligiri tahr. Around half of the world’s population of the rare mountain goat or tahr is now found here.
